The concert will be followed by a reception with light refreshments in his honour to be held in the Parish Hall. Everyone is very welcome.

Judas Maccabaeus tells the story behind the Jewish Festival of Lights, Hanukkah, celebrating the Jewish rebellion, led by Judas, against the Greek Seleucid Empire.

The music includes the familiar ‘See the conquering hero comes’, ‘Sound an alarm’ and ‘O lovely peace’ and concludes with a classic Handel ‘Hallelujah, Amen’ chorus.
