Try singing with our Choir
New members are very welcome and we do not require you to have an audition although you will find it an advantage to read music or to be able to follow it to a degree. If you wish to join you are very welcome to come to rehearsals for 2 or 3 weeks to see if you enjoy singing with us and there is no obligation for you to stay or pay.
Becoming a Member
If you do decide to continue singing with us then we will ask you to become a member, subject to the waiting list. We are delighted to welcome students and young people as members (under 19s do not pay a membership fee). We currently have a waiting list for the soprano and alto sections but the tenor and bass section are still welcoming new additions to their ranks. Please note that South Devon Choir reserves the right to review the choral balance and other constraints involved with running a choir and you may have to wait until suitable space is available for your voice part. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list please use the contact form below or talk to Ann Gardiner at a rehearsal.
How much does it cost to join South Devon Choir?
There is an annual membership fee of £100 for the season September 2019-July 2020. In addition there is a small charge for hire of scores payable at the start of each term. If you wish to sing for a single term then please talk to our Treasurer, Prim Wood, when you attend the rehearsal.
Performing with the Choir
We perform a concert at the end of each term and you are encouraged to attend sufficient rehearsals to be concert ready, that is, knowing the music and confident to participate in your section of the Choir. Practice parts are also available and you are encouraged to make use of these resources.
For further information or to request a membership pack you can contact our Membership Secretary, Ann Gardiner either by telephone on 01803 883188 or by email using the contact form below.
