Whether you sing with us, would like to sing with us or simply want to hear some wonderful choral music we hope you will find what you need here on South Devon Choir’s website.

South Devon Choir can trace its roots back for over 150 years to its first performance of a popular choral work by Gilbert and Sullivan. Since then we have sung nearly every major classical choral work, opera choruses, light-hearted popular music and works by modern composers, always with the aim of maintaining our friendly, open and welcoming community vibe and enjoying what we sing.

If you would like to come and join the Choir we rehearse on Thursdays at Central Church, Tor Hill Road, Torquay TQ2 5RN and we start singing again this term on Thursday 3 September 2026.  Doors open at 7.15pm and rehearsals start at 7.30pm until 9.30pm. Just come along and introduce yourself.

We are a friendly, non-audition choir and would be very pleased to have you along to try us out and hopefully to join. New members are always very welcome and you don’t need an audition. It helps if you can read music or can follow it to a degree but many of our members learn by ear and we provide practice parts to help you. If you wish to join you are very welcome to come to rehearsals for 2 or 3 weeks to see if you enjoy singing with us and there is no obligation for you to stay or pay.
